Universal LLM Notebooks is a Chrome extension that allows you to save and organize chat conversations from AI platforms. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect, transmit, or store any user data on external servers. All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local).

Data Storage

All saved chats, notebooks, and user preferences are stored locally in your browser. This data:

Remains on your device only
Persists across browser sessions
Is never transmitted to external servers
Can be deleted at any time through the extension or browser settings

Permissions Explained

The extension requires the following permissions:

storage: To save your chats and notebooks locally
activeTab: To access the current tab when you click "Save Chat"
tabs: To detect which website you're on
scripting: To inject content scripts for scraping chat content
Host permissions: Access to ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini websites to extract chat content when you explicitly save a chat

When Data is Accessed

The extension only accesses chat content when you:

Navigate to a ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini chat page
Click the extension icon
Explicitly click the "Save Chat" button

No data is accessed automatically or without your explicit action.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services. We do not share your data with anyone.

Data Deletion

You can delete your saved chats and notebooks at any time through the extension's dashboard. To completely remove all extension data, you can uninstall the extension or clear Chrome's extension storage.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when changes were made.
